Women In Concert - An Anthology Of Bengali Muslim, Women's Writings 1904-1938

Throwing light on the work of unknown or forgotten Muslim women writers of pre-Independence Bengal, when the state was not yet partitioned, as would happen with the coming of Independence in 1947, this anthology is like a rediscovery of their lives. Translated for the first time, essays, short stories, poetry, a novel and some correspondence by eleven women have been put together. Aside from the discovery of their writings, the anthology also gives a glimpse of their lives that were not always confined within the household.
