Store Policies (Applicable across our stores)
  1. We request you to order from our café. Outside food is not allowed.
  2. On weekends, our Vasanth Nagar space is a laptop/tab-free zone.
  3. We do not accept unsolicited requests to stock self-published books. We also do not accept hard copies of unsolicited books and products.
  4. Please be careful while browsing books. If a book is damaged we consider it sold.
  5. Once sold, we do not accept returns or exchange of books.
  6. Please treat our in-store staff, books, and cats with respect and kindness. We deeply value this and reserve the right to admission.
Laptop/Tablet Policies at Vasanth Nagar

At Champaca Vasanth Nagar, we are a laptop and tablet free zone on weekends.

On weekdays, when you come by to work with your devices, do purchase a day voucher of INR 399 that is fully redeemable against books. Our shelves full of books await your exploration!


  1. What is a day voucher? 
    At the billing counter, you can buy a gift voucher for Rs. 399. It will be your ‘ticket’ to work out of Champaca for the day you buy it. You can redeem this voucher on books in our store, within one year. 

  2. How long is the voucher valid for?
    One year.

  3. What if I use the space for only half a day?
    We have only one cost for the day voucher for working out of Champaca—this is the reason we have kept it low, and redeemable against books for one year.

  4. Can I transfer the voucher?
    Yes, you can send it to anyone! 

  5. Can I combine the day vouchers?
    Yes, you can ask at the counter.

  6. Is the voucher redeemable against food at Champaca?
    No. The voucher is only redeemable against books. 

  7. Can I work out of Champaca without the day voucher?
    No, you cannot work at Champaca with your devices without the voucher.

  8. Do you have a weekly or monthly scheme?
    No, currently we do not have a weekly or monthly scheme.

  9. What does ‘work’ consist of?
    If you are here working on any device, we request that you buy the voucher.

  10. Instead of buying a day voucher, can I just buy a book?
    Yes, you can do that as well!

  11. Can I borrow books with the day voucher?
    No. We only sell books at Champaca.

  12. Can I exchange books once bought on the Day Voucher?
    No. We have a ‘no return, no exchange’ policy. 

  13. Can I bring my own food if I am working from Champaca?
    No. Outside food is not permitted. 

  14. Do I need to buy a day voucher to read on my Kindle/e-reader on a weekday?
    No! You are welcome to come and read in Champaca. We also encourage you to take a look at our bookshelves as well and hope you find a title or two in there that appeals to you!

  15. Can I use my Kindle/e-reader on the weekends in Champaca?
    Absolutely, you are welcome to come and read in Champaca on the weekend. And we hope you'll find something to pick up from our shelves too :)
Order Cancellation, Return, and Shipping Policies

FAQs and policies for online and offline orders

Cancellation

  1. Orders once placed cannot be cancelled or modified.

Returns

  1. Products, once bought, cannot be returned. If a product is damaged, do contact us with details and photographs of the damaged book/s so our team can review and respond to you accordingly. You can email us at hello@champaca.in.

Shipping

  1. Orders are shipped within 3-6 working days. We are closed on Mondays. If your order is time-sensitive, please email us at hello@champaca.in and we’ll try our best to accommodate your request if possible.
  2. Once your order is handed over to the courier, we are not able to accommodate any changes in delivery. You will receive tracking details as soon as the order is shipped. Please contact the delivery company directly for any questions with shipping.
  3. We do our best to pack books carefully to avoid damage in transit. We cannot be responsible for damage that occurs during shipping by the courier or due to unforeseen circumstances. Please write to us at hello@champaca.in for any concerns here.
  4. If an order is returned to us as a result of a wrong address, or if the courier is unable to contact the customer, shipping charges will need to be paid again for the order to be re-shipped.

Exchanges

  1. We do not accommodate exchanges of products.

Refunds

  1. For damaged books, or orders placed on out-of-stock products, we will refund the amount to you (in full or in part, on the basis of the situation) in the form of a gift voucher, that will be redeemable on our website and in-store.
