The stories of five generations of women in a Kolkata family run eerily in parallel with the legend of Khauna, whose genius was forcibly silenced when her tangle was cut off. Alternating between present-day reality and a reconstructed narrative of the seizure of power by men from women, Khauna Mihir's Mound examines how women continue to have their tongues cut off when they try to tell truths that men find uncomfortable and their explosive response.
