When was the last time you stopped to listen to a bird call on your morning walk? Or noticed a butterfly lingering on a flowering tree at a traffic signal? In the rush of urban life, nature often slips into the background. Yet it continues to thrive around us, quietly shaping our memories, neighbourhoods, and sense of belonging.

This June, join us at Champaca, Vasanth Nagar, for Wild in the Capital, a special reading and nature journaling session inspired by Wild Capital: Discovering Nature in Delhi, the acclaimed new book by conservationist and author Neha Sinha.

Here are all the event details:

Date: Saturday, 27 June
Time: 11:00 AM onwards
Venue: Champaca Bookstore, Vasanth Nagar
Price: INR 799 (Fully redeemable on the book)

In Wild Capital, Neha takes readers on an intimate journey through Delhi's overlooked wild spaces. Moving through forgotten rivers, ancient groves, bird-filled parks, and hidden ecological histories, she uncovers stories of wildlife, memory, and hope that exist alongside the bustle of city life. The book asks a simple but profound question: what becomes possible when we begin to notice the natural world around us?

To celebrate the book, Neha Sinha will be joined by visual communication designer, animator, illustrator, and author Rituparna Sarkar for a morning of reading, observation, and creative exploration.

Together, they will guide participants through the practice of nature journaling: observing birds, butterflies, trees, and urban ecosystems, and translating those observations into sketches, notes, memories, and personal records. Whether you're an artist, a reader, a nature enthusiast, or someone simply curious about seeing your city differently, this session offers a chance to slow down and pay attention.
