About the Speakers:

Naveed Mulki is a self-taught writer and filmmaker. His work involves not just finding diverse characters but deepening the way their narratives are told. His journey has intuitively gravitated toward culture, conservation, and the human experience. His current work includes an ongoing experimental film series for MAP (Museum of Art and Photography) in Bangalore, where he responds to its diverse collection; an experimental art-historical film retelling the ecological edicts of Ashoka using the ancient theatre of Koodiyattam; a feature documentary that explores Tamil and Irish fishing cultures through their stories and poetry, which revolve around community and offer a fresh perspective on climate change and unfettered capitalism; and a short documentary in Goa on the last guardians of fungal knowledge, who endure in preserving a delicate ecosystem of memory, spirituality, and survival.

Pankaj Singh is a writer and filmmaker whose work reflects his deep curiosity for the natural world. Through Faraway Originals, a collective he co-founded, he tells stories that lie at the intersection of nature, science, and human connection. His narratives are quiet, immersive, and rooted in simplicity.
