Portuguese And Their Artillery In India - Goa

This is a research work on the Portuguese artillery. Portuguese was the pioneers for introducing this technology particularly in peninsular India. Without firing a cannon, study on shot range was carried out based on archival record by applying archaeological perspective. The study on cannons and their carriages has facilitated the proper mounting of cannon at Reis Magos Fort. This research on the Portuguese artillery provides data on medieval archaeological remains about the application of archaeological investigations to draw concrete inferences with the help of scientific analysis about an important historical technology.
