In the 1930s, American missionary expatriates and staff of the Woodstock International School in Landour, Mussoorie, compiled their culinary concoctions in a notebook and printed and bounded it for future use. Their recipes of cakes, savouries, jams and preserves and other distinct flavours of America, all made with the local produce of Landour, became the definitive Landour Cookbook. This contains twenty-four of the original recipes of cakes and preserves with old and quaint pictures of Landour.
