Ever thought of turning your daily city encounters into writing ideas?

What did you notice today? A strange cloud? A burst of bougainvillea against a concrete wall? A fragment of a conversation overheard? Or perhaps, a child eating jalebies at the photocopy shop? Be it for work, study, or leisure: every time we step out of the house—through people and places—we plunge right into a labyrinth of stories. Sometimes we notice, and sometimes we just pass by them.

In this two-day workshop with Cities of Fiction, we will explore how cities—full of everyday enchantments—are the ultimate source of raw material for writing. It is designed to take you from a single messy observation to an impactful piece of fiction. We will skip the endless theory and dive straight into the craft: mapping your city, executing structural revision sprints, and breaking down exactly where to send your work to get published.
