In this recountent autobiographical account, the author the founder and leader of the Gulabi gang, looks back to trace her journey as a young girl of twelve, forced into child marriage, who later become the leader of the most feared group of women in the state of Uttar Pradesh. Her fervour for justice and her desire to free women from their everyday oppression led her to organize the women in and around her village into a gang.
