The City: An Anthology of New Indian Writing

Since 2023, Hammock has been publishing new south Asian writing online, seeking unique voices and literary experiments. The City is our first ever print edition, bringing the same ethos to paper.

Containing ten short stories and seven essays, this is a snapshot of what we publish, and an ode to the diversity of Indian writing.

Loosely themed around the south Asian urban, this anthology showcases a wide range of work from some of the nation’s best emerging writers, selected from over three hundred submissions.
