‘Directory of the Outsiders’ began as an exploration of the 'Themmadi Kuzhi' (Scoundrel's Pit, when translated from Malayalam), a burial practice reserved for individuals violating the church's edicts, thereby threatening a fear of exclusion.
Resulting from seven years of on ground research and interviews, she attempts to document a practice, which until now has very scarce evidence. Developed in a form that makes it easy to access, while also acquainting people to the idea of knowing very little, the book's aesthetic reflects on the multiple cases that never came to light.
