BOOK TASTING: STORIES AND FLAVOURS FROM NORTHEAST INDIA| 6 June | 6:30 PM Onwards | Champaca Bookstore, Vasanth Nagar
Publisher: Champaca Bookstore, Library and Cafe
What if you could taste a book before reading it?
Not just read the blurb, but actually sample its mood, voice, and texture? Just like a spoonful of soup or a bite of dessert, giving you a sense of what’s to come.
Welcome to another edition of Book Tasting, where food and literature come together over the course of an evening.
This time, we’re exploring Northeast India through books and cuisine. Writing from the region has long held some of the most vital work in the country. Fiction that questions borders and belonging. Poetry that carries grief alongside tenderness and wit. Essays that reshape how we understand memory, land, and history. Many of these voices still remain underread, and this evening is one way to begin paying attention.
What’s on the menu?
Each course will be paired with a short reading selected by the Champaca team, followed by a guided conversation and time to reflect together.
The menu, curated by Roots & Ferns, brings together flavours from Manipur and Nagaland.
