BOOK TASTING: Stories and Flavours from France
Publisher: Champaca Bookstore, Library and Cafe
What if you could taste a book before reading it?
Not just read the blurb, but actually sample its mood, voice, and texture? Just like a spoonful of soup or a bite of dessert, giving you a sense of what’s to come.
Welcome to another edition of Book Tasting, where food and literature come together over the course of an evening.
This time we are exploring the languorous yet highly charged French landscape through books and cuisine. From the lives of the French bourgeoisie in the 1960s to how to eat your way around France, this edition brings together translations of French authors such as Simone De Beauvoir, Annie Ernaux, Albert Camus and many more.
What’s on the menu?
This High Tea will be paired with a short reading selected by the Champaca team, followed by a guided conversation and time to reflect together.
The menu, curated by Café Plume, brings together flavours from the French culinary world.
