Everything The Light Touches — Book Launch of Janice Pariat's new book, with author Jeet Thayil

On Saturday the 26th, we are delighted to host the Bangalore launch of Janice Pariat's newest novel, Everything the Light Touches. She will be in conversation with poet and author Jeet Thayil. The book is an expansive, moving novel about our interactions with the natural world, different kinds of wisdom, and the threads that connect us across centuries.

About the speakers:

Janice Pariat is a novelist, poet, soap-maker, forest seeker. She is the author of Boats on Land: A Collection of Short Stories, Seahorse: A Novel, and The Nine Chambered Heart. She lives between New Delhi and Shillong with a cat of many names.

Jeet Thayil worked as a journalist for twenty-one years, in Bombay, Bangalore, Hong Kong and New York City. In 2005 he began to write fiction. The first installment of his Bombay Trilogy, Narcopolis, was shortlisted for the Booker Prize and became an unlikely bestseller. His book of poems These Errors Are Correct won the Sahitya Akademi Award (India’s National Academy of Letters), and his musical collaborations include the opera Babur in London. His essays, poetry and short fiction have appeared in the New York Review of Books, Granta, TLS, Esquire, The London Magazine, The Guardian and The Paris Review, among other venues. Jeet Thayil is the editor of The Penguin Book of Indian Poets.
