About the Speakers
Radhika Viswanathan, Samyuktha Varma, and Menaka Raman make up Vaaka Media, a Bangalore-based production company known for creating immersive, original podcasts about society. Their podcasts have been featured on Apple Podcasts’ New and Noteworthy, The Guardian, Bello Collective, Grazia, Quartz and The Hindu.
Their latest podcast Boys & Girls, produced with iHeartRadio, is an absurd, burlesque, cringey take on love and marriage the Indian way. It is where they revisit iconic love stories while navigating the arranged marriage carousel themselves in search of forever love.
Host Radhika Viswanathan and her friends Samyuktha Varma and Menaka Raman are millennials who grew up on a steady diet of romance novels and cinema. Their work blends sharp cultural commentary with personal storytelling, asking what love looks like today and how much of it we’ve inherited from the books we couldn’t put down.
