Burning Mountains

‘Burning Mountains’ is a collection of fourteen short stories by Sahitya Akademi Award winner Gayatri Saraf , originally written in Odia, and translated by various translators. Saraf has, so far, thirteen short story collections in Odia to her credit. Her stories are intimate portraits of people enmeshed in the daily grind of life and reflects the writer’s deep compassion and wide sympathy for the troubled and tormented.\nSupriya Kar edits the online literary journal ‘Indian Literature Today’, translates Odia classics into English, and writes fiction and non-fiction in both the languages. She received Charles Wallace Trust Translation fellowship in 2008.She’s edited a number of works by women writers including the present anthology.
