Just Mabel

Just Mabel(I Am Reading) is a collection of two children stories by author Frieda Wishinsky. Both the stories present the life of a girl named Mabel, her dreams, aspirations and problems. She has trouble in dealing with her name as she doesn't like it. The book makes the readers think about what stands important in life and how one needs to believe in themselves in order to face tough situations.

Mabel never liked her name and always kept seeking one or the other option to change it. She aspired to be a famous singer and wondered as to what names popular singers had and if the new name would suit her or not in the second story, Mabel gets a new red dress which she loved a lot. Later this happiness is lost after she wears the dress to school and her classmates calls her a tomato.
