The 90 Day Cast

When French artist Joëlle Jolivet took a tumble and fractured her spine, she found herself immobilised in a cast for 90 days. Despite her debilitating circumstances and constant pain, she set to work drawing a wry self-portrait of herself - every single day. She posted these images on social media, recording her slow progress in real time. With allusions to literature, art, architecture and popular culture, each of these portraits embodied her painful situation with extraordinary wit and creativity. 

This amazing cast of characters comes together here, for the first time, in the form of a visual diary.. A powerful reminder - particularly to those of us who have felt trapped in times of illness and strife - that human creativity and resilience are alive and well. .
