Administrative Assistant Role

Champaca Bookstore is an independent bookstore based in Bangalore. We are looking for an administrative and accounting assistant to start immediately. 

Role Overview 

The admin and accounting assistant will be independently responsible for the handling of the day-to-day administration and backend tasks of Champaca Bookstore. 

Duties & Responsibilities 

Your responsibilities will include: 

  • Ordering new books and reordering old books (with help and guidance).
  • Entering new books into the store catalogue system.
  • Responding to customer emails related to shipping and accounts.
  • Handling petty cash and voucher expenses, weekly cash deposits, maintaining expense information on monthly payments, coordinating with an accountant.
  • Checking, maintaining and buying required office and cleaning supplies.
  • Supervising housekeeping and maintaining log and contacts of all service providers.
  • Billing of the books and maintaining sales reports on EOD sales, weekly reports, monthly reports on books and events when required.

Based on your level of interest, we will support and encourage you to perform other book or event related activities.

Days of Work

We expect six days of work. You will have a weekly off on Monday, and we will review this if necessary. 

Leave Policy

You are entitled to 24 days of paid leave in a year for a full-time employee.


  • Your remuneration will be based on your previous experience and mutually agreed upon. 
  • You will be provided health insurance and a 20% discount on books. 

Champaca Bookstore is run and managed by a small but enthusiastic team, so you will be expected to pitch in outside of these responsibilities based on availability and other factors. Please contact with a CV, and cover letter.
