The Sense Of An Ending: Booker Prize Winner 2011 is narration by a retired man, Tony Webster and is divided into two parts. The first part is set during the 1960s, which introduce four characters with Tony and his friend Adrian being the central characters. The boys vow to remain friends for life. They are compelled to part ways post the school where Adrian attends Cambridge University and Tony goes to Bristol University.

Tony soon has a girlfriend Veronica. A shameful weekend leads to jeopardizing their relationship. Soon Adrian sends a letter to Tony informing him about Veronica and Adrian's relationship. Tony is hurt and sends back a sharp worded letter to them, but eventually moves on. Months later, the news of Adrian's demise reaches Tony. Adrian leaves behind a diary, which Tony is informed of, only after Veronica's mother's death. Veronica, however, tries everything she can to prevent Tony from reading the diary.

Does the diary reveal the secret behind Adrian's death? Is Tony, a person who tries not to hurt anybody responsible for his death? Will he be able to know the truth? Sense Of An Ending: Booker Prize Winner 2011 was published by RHUK on 1 March 2012 and is available in paperback.
